Cross-Split Spherical Roller Bearings
The rollers of the Cross Cylindrical Roller Bearings are square crossing arranged between outer ring and inner ring. The rollers linearly contact with the raceway, so it has higher rigidity and less elastic strain. The bearing can carry radial load, axial load and moment load simultaneously. They are especially suitable for the applications with high rigidity and high running accuracy.
The dimension of the inner and outer rings is a minimum to miniaturization. Especially, the extremely thin type is close to the limit of small size and has high rigidity, so it is optimal for applications such as joints and swiveling units of industrial robots, swiveling tables of machining centers, rotary units of manipulators, precision rotary tables, medical instrument, measuring instruments, IC manufacturing machines, etc.
Split spherical roller bearings are primarily used for bearing positions which are difficult to access such as on long shafts which require support at several positions, or on cranked shafts. Their use is also beneficial where non-split bearings would require considerable time and effort for maintenance and more particularly for replacement; this would also cause long and expensive, or perhaps even inadmissibly long machine downtime. Split spherical roller bearings offer the optimum solution to such problems. The main application areas include conveyor equipment, long multiple-supported shafts and large ventilation plants .
